About me
I’m Qiuyue 秋月, a native Chinese speaker and avid language learner. Besides Chinese, I’m fluent in English and speak intermediate Japanese, Dutch, and Spanish.
I’ve spent half of my life learning languages using different methods. I understand the importance of comprehensible immersion. However, finding engaging content at the intermediate level can be challenging. I know many Chinese learners face this challenge.
That’s why I started this podcast and YouTube channel—to create engaging and understandable Chinese content for immersive learning. I share a variety of topics, from my language-learning journey to Chinese cultural insights and casual chats, all in comprehensible Chinese. My aim is to give you exposure to different scenarios while keeping things at an accessible level.
I was born and raised in China, spending most of my time in both Guiyang (a small city by Chinese standards) and Shanghai. Now, I live in the Netherlands, where I work as a consultant in the tech world. I spend most of my free time on language learning. When I’m not learning languages, I write (in Chinese), paint (watercolor), play fingerstyle guitar, do various sports, read books, and binge Japanese anime.
