在第八期播客中，我们提到了中国科幻小说作家刘慈欣以及他的作品《三体》。
作为一个科幻作家，刘慈欣的写作非常有他自己的特色。他很擅长把想象和现实中存在的理论结合起来，并且在宏大的背景之下，创造具体的个人。
他的故事也充满了中国社会和历史的特色，所以可以说是一个切身了解中国文化的一个绝佳渠道。

In the eighth episode of our podcast, we talked about Chinese science fiction writer Liu Cixin and his work “The Three-Body Problem.”
As a science fiction writer, Liu Cixin’s writing has its own unique style. He excels at combining imagination with existing theories and, against a grand backdrop, creates vivid individual characters.
His stories also abound with characteristics of Chinese society and history, making them an excellent channel for gaining an intimate understanding of Chinese culture.
Besides “The Three-Body Problem,” I have read many of his other works, among which my favorites include:
- “Ball Lightning”: A full-length science fiction novel, published in 2001.
- “Taking Her Eyes”: A short science fiction story, published in 1999.
- “The Wandering Earth”: A short science fiction story, published in 2003.
“The Three-Body Problem” also has some adaptations that have been released in China:
- Chinese animated film “The Three-Body Problem,” released in 2022.
- Chinese TV drama “The Three-Body Problem,” released in 2023.
If you want to challenge yourself and enjoy “The Three-Body Problem,” I highly recommend reading the novels and watching the TV series mentioned above, which can be a way to enjoy interesting content while learning Chinese!
